On the occasion of his 13th birthday, the young heir to the British throne, Prince George, was honoured with the release of a fresh portrait by the royal family. He is the first child of the well-known couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
On Wednesday, July 22, the image was shared with followers on the monarchy’s official Instagram account. This gesture continues a well-established tradition of many years, in which the family shares new portraits of its members with the public on special dates.

In the new photo, the young prince appears calm and smiling, with his hands tucked into the pockets of an elegant dark blue suit paired with a white shirt. This portrait clearly shows his growth over the years, heralding his entry into a new stage of life, adolescence.
“Happy 13th birthday George,” was the text accompanying the royal family’s official post.
As the first in line after his father, Prince William, in the line of succession to the throne, George has over time become one of the most closely watched members by the public eye. The future of the British monarchy is expected to rely heavily on the role he will play.
