The murder of Eglant Koçi, journalist: Armand Shakaj is suspected of hiding in Tirana and has changed his appearance

Armand Shakaj, suspected of murdering his friend Eglant Koçi and hiding the body on the peak of Korra, remains on the run, while police suspect that he is still staying inside Albania.

Journalist Igli Çelmeta said authorities have information indicating that Shakaj has not left the country. According to him, he has been seen in several different areas, mainly in Tirana and Elbasan.

Çelmeta also said there is information that the suspect has completely changed his appearance and the way he dresses in order to avoid being identified.

“This person appears not to have left Albanian territory, as police have information that he is hiding within Albanian territory. In fact, up to the day Eglant Koçi’s body was found, there was information that he was hiding in Tirana, Elbasan, and in the villages around Tirana. A few days later, police received information that Armand Shakaj had been seen in the area of Rruga e Kosovarëve, moving around disguised. He is suspected of having completely cut his hair and beard, changing his entire look and clothing so as not to be recognized. Police suspect he is being helped by his friends, companions, and relatives. Thanks to the illegal activities he has carried out in the past, he also has opportunities to hide. After police received the information that he had moved along Rruga e Kosovarëve, it was confirmed by security cameras and it was true,” Çelmeta told A2 CNN.
