The minimum trade union basket for September reaches 69,432 denars

The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia announced that the value of the minimum trade union basket for September 2026 is 69,432 denars.

Compared with August 2026, when the basket cost 68,675 denars, an increase of 757 denars was recorded in September.

The monthly structure of the new consumer basket for September 2026 is as follows: food and beverages, 25,259 denars or 36.402 percent; clothing and footwear, 6,799 denars or 9.803 percent; housing, water, electricity and gas, 6,379 denars or 9.204 percent.

Personal hygiene and household cleaning account for 2,699 denars or 3.905 percent, while healthcare accounts for 1,196 denars or 1.706 percent.

Transport represents 5,409 denars or 7.807 percent of the basket, communications 3,677 denars or 5.308 percent, while recreation and culture account for 5,592 denars or 8.109 percent.

Education expenses amount to 7,192 denars or 10.410 percent, restaurant and hotel expenses to 4,130 denars or 5.911 percent, while other goods and services amount to 1,100 denars or 1.6 percent.

In total, the consumer basket is valued at 69,432 denars, representing 100.0 percent.

According to today’s report by the Federation of Trade Unions of North Macedonia, for a family living in a 60-square-meter rented apartment, monthly expenses in September amount to 84,807 denars.
