Day 50 of civil resistance to topple the government and oppose the old political class: Your end has come, we will not surrender!

The civil resistance enters its 50th day today, marking a historic moment in Albania’s 35-year pluralist journey.

Fed up with the old political class and the damage governments have caused the country, citizens are demanding its replacement and the overthrow of the current government, with the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama as their main demand.

The demand is non-negotiable, as thousands of Albanian citizens gather every night on the boulevard in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, where they deliver speeches and then march through the streets of Tirana, raising awareness.

With chants of “Tomorrow even more” and “Rama resign,” citizens conclude their march each night.

Other chants include “Albania is not for sale,” “Your end has come,” “Rama to prison, Berisha to prison,” “Rama to prison, Belinda to prison,” “Arrest Rama, arrest Balluku,” “Rama, SPAK You,” “Revolution,” “Sellout opposition,” “We will not surrender until the end,” and others.

Protesters also gathered yesterday, on the 49th day of the protest against the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama, with massive participation.

The protest began at 19:00 with participants assembling in “Skënderbej” Square, after which they marched toward the Prime Minister’s Office building, where speeches were held and calls for the prime minister’s resignation were repeated.

After the speeches concluded, protesters continued marching through the capital’s streets, chanting slogans such as “Down with patronage hires,” “Edi Rama, resign,” “Illiterate parliament,” and “Albania demands revolution.”

During the march, calls were also heard demanding the arrest of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, along with other political slogans.

Organizers and participants state that the protest will continue in the days ahead, emphasizing that they will sustain their mobilization until their demands are met.
