Tetovo high schools again face false bomb threats, students evacuated

Two high schools in Tetovo were placed on alert this morning following false bomb threats. They were the “Nikolla Shtejn” Medical High School and the “8 Shtatori” Economic High School. Students were evacuated from the institutions’ courtyards before classes had fully begun, while members of the Tetovo Sector of Internal Affairs conducted detailed counterterrorism checks.

At the medical school, the threatening message was sent to the official email address in the early morning hours. Principal Malësore Ramadani said the police were notified around 7 a.m., while the students were kept outside the building and later sent home. According to her, they may return only after the police provide written confirmation, while classes will continue in the afternoon. Ramadani added that the alerts always arrive in Macedonian and from unknown email addresses.

The “8 Shtatori” Economic High School faced the same situation. The threatening messages arrived overnight at the personal and official email addresses of the school’s administrators, as well as at the school’s email address, which had reportedly not been functioning.

Principal Hava Hasani said the first email was sent at 1 a.m. to her personal address and that of the secretary. After the inspection was completed, the police authorized them to resume classes./TV21/
