Tahiri accuses VV of evading responsibility: Institutions run by acting officials

Besnik Tahiri, head of the Alliance parliamentary group, has reacted to the failure to constitute the Assembly, saying that the deadlock is directly affecting the functioning of Kosovo’s institutions.

At a press conference, Tahiri said that lawmakers’ absence from the session and the delays in constituting the Assembly were intended to enable a series of actions within the government. According to him, the executive is currently operating with acting officials, while all ministries have been functioning in this manner for around two years.

He also opposed the simultaneous holding of positions in the government and the Assembly, stressing that a person cannot be both a minister and a sworn-in member of parliament at the same time. Tahiri claimed that VV is using all these actions to evade responsibility.

The head of the Alliance parliamentary group also expressed concern about the situation in the healthcare sector. He said that, as a witness to the situation, he believes that conditions, salaries, medicines, operating rooms and admissions are at a very difficult level.
