Following the Democratic Party of Kosovo’s (PDK) call to continue the constitutive session, Alliance MP Besnik Tahiri spoke from the Assembly rostrum.

He said that the MPs had come to the Assembly at the invitation of the PDK to fulfill a function he considered vital for Kosovo.
“At the invitation of the PDK, we have come here to perform a function of vital importance to Kosovo,” Tahiri stated.
According to him, sovereignty derives from the people and belongs to the institutions that emerged from the elections. Tahiri said that obstructing the functioning of the Assembly of Kosovo constitutes an attack on sovereignty, the constitutional order and democracy.
“Sovereignty belongs to the people and the elected institutions. By blocking the Assembly of Kosovo, sovereignty, the constitutional order and democracy are being undermined,” he said.
The Alliance MP also stressed that they would not accept, under any circumstances or in any form, the violation of citizens’ rights.
“We will not allow the rights of citizens to be violated in any way or in any form,” Tahiri said.
