Suspect Arrested for Murder of Journalist Esposito, Victim’s Belongings Found in Hiding Place

A new twist has marked the investigation into the death of independent Italian journalist Luigi Esposito, whom everyone called “Luca.” Carabinieri forces have handcuffed a 26-year-old Tunisian citizen named Ridha Rahmoumi, suspected of being responsible for the crime.

The young man was discovered in an abandoned rural structure near Eboli, in the territory of Salerno. After his arrest, he was taken to police offices to undergo questioning sessions by the investigative team.

During the inspection of the premises suspected of serving as a hideout, the officers uncovered personal objects belonging to the victim, including his bank cards. These elements are considered by authorities as key data for reconstructing how the events unfolded.

Sources from the Italian press indicate that during the initial questioning, the detained person provided some explanations, but their content has not yet been disclosed to the public. Specialists are continuing their work to shed light on the cause and the full context of the murder.

The prosecution’s initial hypotheses suggest that Esposito and Rahmoumi may have come into contact privately, and one of the leads being investigated is that of an intimate encounter.
