Surge of holidaymakers to Albania, over 41,000 entries at Morina within 12 hours

Over the past 12 hours, more than 76,700 people entering or leaving the country have been recorded at the Morina border crossing.

Official data show that 41,183 entries were recorded during this period, while the number of exits reached 35,584.

This is the largest flow of movement recorded within a single day so far this year, as the tourist season reaches its peak.

Holidaymakers from Kosovo, North Macedonia and other countries in the region are traveling to Albania for their summer vacations. The arrival of members of the diaspora has also contributed to the increase in traffic.

Although the number of travelers is high, no queues have formed at Morina. The border crossing is currently operating with 12 counters, while the free-movement regime continues for citizens of Albania and Kosovo.

According to holidaymakers, border-crossing formalities and driving on the country’s roads are being carried out in line with European standards.

Albania continues to be among the preferred destinations for tourists and emigrants, not only for its coastline but also for its natural landscapes and other attractions it has to offer.
