Proceedings were suspended yesterday after the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, requested more time for talks with party representatives in an effort to reach an agreement on the issue of the president.
Meanwhile, midnight is considered the final constitutional deadline for the constitution of the Assembly.
Neither the Vetëvendosje Movement nor the Democratic League of Kosovo has announced any meeting between Kurti and LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku. Both had previously expressed readiness to reach a political agreement.
Before the session was suspended, the verification of the MPs’ mandates had been completed, after which they also took the oath of office.
