Spectacular burglary in Rome: €700,000 worth of valuables stolen from Italian producer’s home

Italian authorities have launched an investigation into an unusual burglary in Rome, where valuables worth around €700,000 are believed to have been taken from the apartment of art historian and film producer Donella Bossi Pucci.

The incident is believed to have occurred on August 15, when the area was quiet because of the holiday period. Pucci discovered the burglary as soon as she returned from vacation, realizing that something was wrong even before entering the apartment.

According to investigators’ preliminary findings, the thieves acted quickly and precisely, avoiding major damage to the residence. They are suspected of taking two safes containing jewelry, valuable objects and works of art from the owner’s personal collection.

Police from Rome’s Security Subdirectorate are also examining the possibility that the burglars were assisted by someone familiar with the owner’s habits and with information about the valuables kept in the apartment.

One of the elements that has most surprised the authorities is the lack of visible signs of forced entry. The home’s alarm system is believed to have been deactivated or tampered with, while the entire burglary is thought to have been carried out within around 15 minutes.

To solve the case, investigators are examining security camera footage from the surrounding area. The aim is to identify suspicious movements and vehicles that may have been used by a potential accomplice outside the building.

Meanwhile, employees, the owner’s associates and the building’s doorman have been questioned and are being investigated. Forensic laboratories are also analyzing the premises for fingerprints and other evidence that could help identify the perpetrators.
