Skopje: Criminal charges filed against three suspects for extortion and violence

The Violent Crime Unit of the Violent Crime Department at the Skopje Internal Affairs Sector, in cooperation with the Skopje Public Prosecutor’s Office, has filed criminal charges under an expedited procedure against V.A. (26), D.A. (27) and S.S., all from Skopje. They are suspected of committing the criminal offences of “extortion” and “violence,” punishable under Articles 258 and 386 of the Criminal Code.

According to the authorities, on 17 August 2026, at around 3:20 p.m., in the territory of the Aerodrom Municipality, the three individuals physically attacked a 28-year-old man from Skopje over a previously unresolved dispute between a debtor and a creditor. They are also suspected of threatening him and his family.

Following police intervention, V.A. and D.A. were arrested, while a central wanted notice was issued for S.S.

During the investigative actions, materials serving as evidence were also seized. V.A. and D.A. were brought before the pre-trial judge. The court ordered V.A. to remain under house arrest for 30 days, imposed precautionary measures on D.A., and ordered S.S. to be held in absentia, the Ministry of Interior said.
