Skënder Hita meeting in Korçë: police should be open to citizens and the uniform should uphold dignity

The General Director of the State Police, Skënder Hita, arrived on Wednesday at the Korçë Local Police Directorate. He met with local directorate structures, while it is learned that the focus was school safety ahead of the start of the new academic year and the measures police must take to guarantee public order and safety.

Hita asked the structures to commit to increasing controls in the security perimeter of educational institutions. Another discussion point, it is reported, was preventing the distribution of narcotics in schools by increasing cooperation with education directorates and other institutions.

Hita also gave instructions to intensify the fight against cross-border crimes, seeking full investigations and commitment to cracking down on cases of assistance for illegal border crossing.

As for road safety, Hita called for wider use of technology, reducing vehicle checks on road axes.

At the end of the meeting, the head of the State Police asked the structures to intensify the fight against the activity of criminal groups.

We recall that a day earlier, the police chief was in Shkodër, where he expressed dissatisfaction with the local directorate structures, while asking them to do more work in the fight against crime and the cultivation of narcotics.
