Six injured after advertising sign collapses during music festival in England

An advertising sign collapsed onto several people during the Big Church Festival near Steyning, West Sussex, England, leaving six of them injured.

After reports that several attendees required medical treatment, emergency services, ambulances and a large number of medics were sent to the scene.

Organizers announced that the festival had been suspended because of a “serious incident” and that the rest of the program would not go ahead.

“Above all, our prayers are with those directly affected by the incident. We understand that this will be deeply disappointing for the thousands of people who joined the festival,” the organizers said.

They also said they were working closely with the emergency services and authorities, while further information and updates would be made public.

“We are grateful for the understanding, patience and prayers of our community during this time,” the organizers added.
