Sibel Halimi: The leadership unanimously backed Bekim Sejdiu, LDK places Kosovo’s interests above everything else

Sibel Halimi, a member of the LDK leadership, has reacted following today’s meeting, at which Bekim Sejdiu’s candidacy for president was considered.

According to Halimi, the party leadership unanimously voted to nominate Professor Bekim Sejdiu for President of the Republic of Kosovo. She said that through this decision, the LDK is showing that the interests of the Republic and institutional stability stand above any other interest.

In her post, Halimi described Sejdiu as a candidate who embodies the integrity, professionalism and institutional experience the country needs during an important period for stability and the functioning of institutions.

She expressed her conviction that Professor Sejdiu’s academic, diplomatic and constitutional experience would enable him to represent the Republic with responsibility, impartiality and dignity, positioning himself above political divisions and defending the state interest.

Halimi stressed that the LDK is once again demonstrating, in this case as well, that institutional stability and the interests of the Republic take precedence over any other interest.
