Shooting in a Tourist-Frequented Area, Footage from the Scene Where a 50-Year-Old Man Was Shot in Saranda

The footage shows the area where Thimjo Rubati, also known as Sander Rubati, was seriously injured. He was shot today in an attack believed to have involved two people and was hit by three bullets.

According to new sources, Thimjo Rubati had been released from prison a few years ago after being arrested in Greece over a serious incident.

Due to his life-threatening condition, he was urgently transported to Tirana, where he will receive specialised treatment.

The incident occurred at around 9:15 p.m. in Saranda’s District No. 4. Under circumstances that have yet to be clarified, the 50-year-old man, identified as Th. R., was shot in front of his business premises. He was initially taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Police forces immediately went to the scene and are carrying out intensive searches in the area to identify and apprehend the perpetrator or perpetrators. Preliminary information raises suspicions that the attack was carried out by two people wearing helmets, who fled on a motorcycle.

Under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, the investigative team is continuing its work at the scene to fully clarify the circumstances, as well as to identify and arrest the perpetrator or perpetrators.
