Attempted Murder of Thimjo Rubati in Sarandë: Details Emerge, One Lead Linked to the Shooting of an Officer a Day Earlier

New details have emerged from the investigation into the attempted murder of 50-year-old Thimjo Rubati in Sarandë. Sources close to the investigative team told Top Channel that one of the leads being examined is a possible connection to the assault on officer Mihal Velço, which occurred a day earlier.

According to new information from the investigation, the perpetrators, who were masked and wearing helmets, are suspected of having left the scene toward the beach area at the end of Mithat Hoxha Street. They are then believed to have fled by speedboat.

Police forces continued checks throughout the night, while the search for the identification and arrest of the suspects is still ongoing.

Meanwhile, the injured Thimjo Rubati has been transferred to the hospital in Ioannina for more specialised treatment. Earlier, he received first aid at Sarandë hospital, where he was also given blood.

According to sources, the 50-year-old was conscious after the attack but was unable to identify the perpetrators, stating that he did not know the people who shot him.

Police are continuing their investigation to clarify the circumstances of the attempted murder and determine the motive behind the attack.
