Shiroka-Pula receives congratulations from the leaders of Finland, Slovenia, Albania and North Macedonia

After taking office as president, Justina Shiroka-Pula received congratulatory messages from several European leaders, including Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Slovenian President Natasha Pirc-Musar, Albanian President Bajram Begaj and North Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb wished Shiroka-Pula success in her new role, emphasizing that Finland remains ready to continue cooperation in the interests of peace, stability, democracy and European integration.

For her part, Slovenian President Natasha Pirc-Musar expressed her conviction in her congratulatory telegram that the friendly ties between the two countries would deepen further. She reaffirmed Slovenia’s support for Kosovo in strengthening democratic principles, regional cooperation, the consolidation of institutions and the rule of law, and expressed her openness to further cooperation within the Brdo-Brijuni Process.

Albanian President Bajram Begaj congratulated Shiroka-Pula on her election as head of state, emphasizing that Albania and Kosovo will stand together in the face of challenges and on their journey toward a European future.

Meanwhile, North Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova conveyed her congratulations, expressing her belief that dialogue and social cohesion would be strengthened under Shiroka-Pula’s leadership.

She emphasized the importance of good neighborly relations, built on mutual understanding and respect, and expressed her readiness to give new impetus to political, economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Justina Shiroka-Pula was elected Kosovo’s new president by the Assembly of Kosovo on Tuesday, receiving 81 votes in the first round. She is the country’s third female president and the seventh person to hold the post in its history.
