She strangled her father with a wire; Fier Prosecutor’s Office sends daughter and mother who concealed the crime to trial

The Fier Prosecutor’s Office has completed its investigation and sent two women, a mother and daughter, to trial in connection with the murder of a man in the village of Frashër, Patos, in July 2025.

The daughter, Ermalinda Rama, is accused of killing her father, Anesti Rama, while her mother, Valbona Rama, is accused of taking steps to conceal evidence of the crime and obstruct the discovery of the truth.

According to the prosecution’s investigation, the incident took place on July 23, 2025, at the family home. The 26-year-old is suspected of tightening a wire noose around her father’s neck, causing him to suffocate and die instantly.

After the incident and before the police arrived, the victim’s wife and the accused woman’s mother, Valbona Rama, cleaned the area where the body was found and washed the victim’s body.

After analyzing the evidence, the Fier Prosecutor’s Office concluded that Ermalinda Rama carried out the acts that caused her father’s death, while Valbona Rama intervened to obstruct the discovery of the truth.

The Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Fier has completed its investigation and sent E.R. to trial, accused of committing the criminal offense of “Murder due to family relations,” provided for under Article 79/a of the Criminal Code, and V.R., accused of committing the criminal offense of “Actions obstructing the discovery of the truth,” provided for under Article 301 of the Criminal Code.

At the conclusion of the investigation into criminal proceeding No. 1073/2025, it was established that on July 23, 2025, at the family home in the village of Frashër, Patos, E.R. killed her father, A.R., by tightening a wire noose around his neck, causing him to suffocate and die instantly.

After the incident and before the police arrived, V.R., the victim’s wife and the accused woman’s mother, took steps to clean the area where the victim was found and wash his body. These actions were intended to alter or conceal evidence and obstruct the discovery of the truth.

Based on an analysis of the statements collected, the findings of the forensic medical examination, the inspection of the crime scene, the items seized, and other evidence gathered during the investigation, the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Fier concluded that E.R. carried out the acts that caused her father’s death, while V.R. carried out the aforementioned actions with the aim of obstructing the discovery of the truth.
