A serious road accident occurred last night in Berat, at the roundabout on the outskirts of the city along the bypass. Three 16-year-olds were involved in the crash and are suspected of having been racing electric motorcycles.

According to preliminary information, the teenagers lost control of their vehicles while negotiating the roundabout and collided with one another. Two of the 16-year-olds suffered serious head injuries in the collision.
They were rushed to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, where they remain in serious condition. The third teenager was taken to Berat Regional Hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
He suffered multiple fractures, but fortunately his injuries are not life-threatening. Traffic police officers arrived at the scene and carried out initial investigative work to establish the circumstances and causes of the accident.
