Serious Collision Between Two Boats Off Cannes Leaves 10 Injured and 22-Year-Old Missing

A 22-year-old is missing and 10 people were injured after two boats collided off the coast of Cannes in southern France.

The accident occurred on Sunday evening, and authorities have launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

The collision took place at around 10:45 p.m. in the Bay of Naples, under circumstances that have yet to be clarified. A Pardo-type vessel carrying 11 people and an inflatable boat with 10 people on board were involved in the accident. Both vessels were flying the French flag.

The force of the collision caused all those aboard the inflatable boat to end up in the sea. Emergency crews immediately launched a large-scale search and rescue operation.

In total, rescue teams managed to pull 20 people from the sea, who were transported to the ports of La Napoule and La Rague in Mandelieu-la-Napoule.

Ten people were injured, including several teenagers. Six suffered minor injuries, while four others were classified as being in serious condition. The most seriously injured were transported by ambulances and helicopters to hospitals in Cannes, Antibes, Nice and Toulon.

Meanwhile, a search operation is continuing to find the 22-year-old, who remains missing. French authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the collision between the two vessels.
