Serious accident in Sarandë: 44-year-old falls from roof slab, airlifted to Trauma Hospital

A worker was seriously injured this morning in the city of Sarandë, after falling from the height of a building.

The victim has been identified as Besnik Lika, 44 years old, a resident of Sarandë. He was urgently transported to the hospital of the coastal city, as it is suspected he fell from the roof slab during work to repair the roof of a building in neighborhood number 4.

According to the medical staff of Sarandë hospital, the 44-year-old has sustained serious injuries to the spinal column, specifically a fracture of the eighth thoracic vertebra (T8), which has resulted in paralysis of the lower limbs.

Faced with the severe health condition and the immediate need for more specialized care, doctors decided that the injured man be immediately airlifted by helicopter to the University Trauma Hospital in the capital.

Meanwhile, police officers have arrived at the scene and have begun investigative actions to fully clarify the circumstances and causes of this serious accident during the performance of duty.
