SEC Allocates 21,100,000 Denars for Brvenica Mayoral Election

At its 14th session, held today, the State Election Commission (SEC) unanimously approved the guidelines and decisions for organizing the early election for mayor of the Municipality of Brvenica, scheduled for October 18.

A financial plan totaling 21,100,000 denars has been drawn up to prepare and ensure the smooth conduct of the election process. SEC President Bojan Maričić announced that the amount was approved by the Government yesterday.

Of the total budget, 3,000,000 denars will be allocated to paid political advertising in the media. The remainder is intended to cover all other costs arising from the organization and conduct of the election.

Maričić said that, for the public’s information, the financial plan covering all expenses for the election of the mayor of the Municipality of Brvenica on October 18 amounts to 21,100,000 denars. He explained that the Government approved this amount at yesterday’s session as a list of expenditures, noting that 3,000,000 denars had been earmarked for paid political advertising in the media, while the remainder would be used to ensure the full and proper conduct of the election in Brvenica.

An amendment to the SEC’s Annual Plan was also approved during the session. The amendment introduces a new budget program, Program 21, which will be used exclusively to carry out election-related activities.

SEC member Angelčo Ristov explained that the institution is required to adjust its Annual Plan by adding the new budget program. The program includes the minimum procurements necessary to organize and conduct the election process in Brvenica.

The members also unanimously approved the draft decision stipulating that expenses for election activities be determined according to the actual amounts spent. They also approved the draft decision on allocating funds to the Brvenica Municipal Election Commission for the purpose of carrying out these activities.

According to Maričić, this decision will enable the Municipal Election Commission to cover some of the costs associated with conducting the election.

The SEC’s decisions also provide for advance funds to be granted to the institution’s regional office in Tetovo, as well as for IT engineers to be engaged during the election process. Meanwhile, members of the Brvenica Municipal Election Commission will undergo mandatory training on how to conduct the October 18 election.
