The Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Afrim Gashi, has announced that he has signed the decision to hold an early election for mayor of the Municipality of Brvenica. The election will take place on October 18, 2026.

Gashi called on the responsible institutions to organize the process in accordance with the legislation in force. Meanwhile, he urged candidates and political parties to enter the race with programs and ideas.
“I invite the citizens of Brvenica to take part in the election and exercise their democratic right responsibly, contributing to a peaceful, orderly and credible process that will determine the future direction of their municipality,” Gashi said.
He also stressed that he expects the election to serve as evidence of the democratic maturity of the institutions and citizens.
