Rrustemi: What was said from the start came to pass; this is not a surrender

The Vetëvendosje Movement MP Adnan Rrustemi reacted on Facebook to the latest political developments, saying the outcome was in line with what had been announced from day one.

According to him, the law was passed and the president was elected, just as Albin had said, as he had requested, and as the people had voted. For this reason, Rrustemi rejected describing the developments as a surrender.

Rrustemi also questioned claims that there was a plan for an armed attack, the use of bombs and the causing of bloodshed. He argued there was no reason for such a scenario, since the passage of the law had not been blocked.

He stressed that what was being obstructed was the election of the president, while, according to him, the aim was to create chaos.

Rrustemi also said that if there had been bombs, they were not connected to the law but to the loss of power. He wrote that even amid their talk of bombs, Albin Kurti had proven himself a statesman, while the others had done nothing to prevent the situation or were desperate that Kosovo had finally elected a president, established its institutions and passed the requested law without knowing its effects.
