Adnan Rrustemi: Six people are pushing Kosovo toward crisis and chaos

Vetëvendosje MP Adnan Rrustemi has reacted to the opposition’s position on the election of the president. According to him, the opposition has opposed several alternatives proposed by LVV, including Glauk Konjufca, Feride Rushiti and, most recently, Prof. Bekim Sejdiu.

Rrustemi said Sejdiu’s candidacy was part of an agreement approved by the leaderships of LVV and LDK, but which was subsequently not accepted. He asked what the interests were of the six people who, according to him, were leading Kosovo toward chaos and another institutional crisis.

According to Rrustemi, during the spring the opposition had declared that it would not allow LVV to hold all three positions.

He said the opposition had been asked to put forward three names, with the commitment that one of them would be voted for by LVV, but the response was negative.

After that, Glauk Konjufca’s candidacy was withdrawn, while the opposition, according to him, did not put forward any proposal.

Later, LVV proposed Feride Rushiti as a non-party candidate. This alternative was also rejected on the grounds that no consultations had taken place, once again resulting in a negative response.

Rrustemi summed up the situation by saying that the country went to elections, while the result was more or less the same.

He added that negotiations launched later led to an agreement on Prof. Bekim Sejdiu, which had been accepted by the two leaderships, those of LVV and LDK. However, this agreement was also rejected.

The MP asked who the six people were who, according to him, were so easily leading the country into chaos, seeking to know what concerns they had and what interests were guiding them.

Rrustemi also asked whether it was possible that these people had tied their personal fate to the fate of all of Kosovo.
