Rezart Veleshnja Reacts to Labi’s Initiative for Shpat Kasapi’s Son: The Family Has Never Asked for Public Help

Singer Labinot Tahiri’s decision to set aside 150 euros from every wedding and musical event at which he performs for Roel, the son of the late Shpat Kasapi, has prompted widespread public reaction.

Following Labi’s announcement, actor Rezart Veleshnja, who was a close friend of Shpat, also responded.

In an Instagram Story post, he said that he remains in regular contact with the late artist’s family.

According to Veleshnja, Shpat’s mother, Gjylymsere Kasapi, and his brother, Albin Kasapi, have never asked for public help, stressing that the family’s dignity would not allow them to take such steps.

He added that any help for Roel is welcome, but he does not consider it necessary for personal contributions to be accompanied by public appeals made on behalf of the family.

Nevertheless, the actor emphasized that the artist’s son deserves support and appealed to friends, colleagues and public figures to contribute to his future.

Veleshnja stressed that Roel should have everyone’s support, noting that he is growing up as the son of an artist beloved by the public who, according to him, never asked for help during his lifetime.
