Rama to “France24”: There Are External Influences Against the Project in Zvërnec; the Protests Are in Tirana, While in Vlora It Is Supported

Prime Minister Edi Rama commented to the French television channel “France24” on the protest held against the project in Zvërnec.

During the interview with this media outlet, Rama said that, in his view, there has been a large amount of interference in this protest.

“Exactly regarding what is happening. There is a great deal of interference, whether interference from Iran, with which we have been in a cyber war for the past three years, or interference from competitors across the region who do not want this development in Albania,” Rama said.

He added that, besides these, there are also other concerns from a part of the population, which wants different things, but stressed that the government was elected to carry out its promises, including this project.

“As I said, there are also all the other concerns of a part of the population who want different things, but we were elected to do what we promised, and among those promises is this project,” Rama emphasized.

He went on to describe it as interesting that the protests are being held in Tirana, while in Vlora, where the project is planned to be built, citizens support it, according to him.

“It is very interesting, because there are protests in Tirana, while in Vlora, where the project is planned to be carried out, people want it,” he added.
