Rama reveals details from the ‘Flasim’ podcast: I will not choose a successor, power has brought down many men

Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced the launch of the podcast “Flasim”, where this time he will not be the host of the conversation, but the person who will answer the questions.

In the promotional material, Rama discusses the issue of Sazan Island, SPAK, and his experience in politics. He also states that the Municipality of Tirana is being run without a head.

Asked about the possibility of a political successor, the prime minister has made it clear that he does not intend to be the one to determine it.

“It was a commissioned crime and one of the executors is a person I know very well.

“It is not about selling or transferring the ownership of the island. Sazan will remain the property of Albania. I am not the seller of Albania.

“One of SPAK’s most serious mistakes has been the use of the media to mudsling people who would later be indicted. Such a thing should not happen.

“Time proved that my investment had been in a carnival mask.

“A prosecuter and a judge gathered in a room and made the decision to make the prime minister, parliament, and president. I cannot do this.

“The municipality has no head. It has turned into a social, political, and economic experiment, where a capital city is run without a head.

“He was a talent, even a great political talent, but he couldn’t bear the weight. Power is a fearssome beast; it has devoured and brought down many men.

“He who challenges you and becomes your successor must kill you. I do not intend to choose a successor. When I cross the threshold of that door, you will be rid of me”, Rama stated.
