Rama reacts again to the protest and turns calls for his resignation into an ironic list of achievements

Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted once again on social media regarding the protest, mocking the calls demanding his resignation.

Through a lengthy post filled with sarcasm and direct symbolism, the head of government responded to an anonymous message urging him to step down, turning his response into a kind of “manifesto” for resignation.

In this post, Rama lists some of what he considers the achievements of his government, including changes in urban and rural areas, airports, tourism with record figures, the economy, education, healthcare, infrastructure, as well as the opening of negotiations with the European Union. He also mentions wage increases in almost all sectors of the economy and the fact that, according to him, protests are now held peacefully, stressing that Albania has entered another stage of development and stability.

Now read me (if you can and of course if you want). Resign over the transformations of urban and rural areas. Resign over the airports! Resign over tourism posting record figures! Resign over the negotiations that were opened! Resign over the eighth intergovernmental conference. Resign over getting the economy back on track! Resign because today you have increased wages in almost all sectors of the economy. Resign because today protests are held peacefully and there is no sniper at your window! Resign over the transformations in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and beyond. Reality is irritating for those who live with nostalgia for permanent crisis. Resign, because you turned Albania into a country that is respected internationally today. Or think of it this way: Resign… in 2030! ???????????????? We will not need you then, but we will certainly remember you.

Rama’s reaction comes at a time when the protest remains tense, while the opposition and his critics continue to demand that he leave office.
