Clashes and calls for calm at this evening’s protest

Tensions were recorded this evening among participants in the protest, as they continue their 31-day stand.

At the 31st civic gathering held in Tirana, protesters appealed for the protest to preserve its peaceful character and for clashes or provocations to be avoided during developments on the ground.

One of the protesters addressed those present, asking them not to fall prey to situations that, according to him, are aimed at increasing tensions at the gathering and diverting the protest from its purpose.

During his speech, he harshly attacked Prime Minister Edi Rama and leveled accusations against the government, while urging citizens not to react to individuals who, according to him, may provoke the situation.

According to him, the protest must remain peaceful and focused on its political objective, emphasizing that any deviation could damage the protesters’ cause.

The protester also stated that, in his view, attempts at provocation are intended to harm the civic movement, and therefore called for calm and unity from participants as the gathering continues.
