Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that the meetings would be held every Friday, at the same time and in the same places. According to him, each administrative unit, including urban areas within the largest cities, will have a “Faithful Presence” once a month.
Rama described the initiative as a neutral space where citizens can appear without cameras and without party membership cards or symbols to speak directly about their concerns, complaints and requests.
According to the prime minister, the meetings will not be assemblies, but individual hearings. The MP will take note of the problems, officially forward them to the institutions and follow up to ensure that the citizen receives a response.
“Today at 5 p.m., the Socialist Party’s Faithful Presence began across Albania. It will take place every Friday, at the same time and in the same place—always on Fridays at 5 p.m.,” Rama wrote.
He explained that the initiative does not guarantee a solution to every problem, but aims to ensure that no request goes unforwarded to the institutions and that no one is left without the response they are entitled to by law and custom. “Faithful Presence listens to you, and Besa tells you: check me,” the prime minister said.
Following Rama’s order to implement the initiative, former Agriculture Minister Anila Denaj announced that she would meet with citizens at a café in Bërzhitë.
Former Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha has chosen a venue on “Migjeni” Street, in Administrative Unit 11 in Tirana.
Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu will receive citizens at Garibaldi Square, in Kombinat, while Culture Minister Blendi Gonxhe has chosen a café-bar for meetings with residents of Mëzez.
Ogerta Manastirliu, who has been proposed for the upcoming local election race in Tirana, has chosen the “Petro Zheji” Library in Administrative Unit 9 of the capital, unlike her colleagues, who will hold their meetings in cafés.
Erion Braçe is expected to begin the hearings next week, after consulting this Friday with the Socialist Party’s branch sections in Administrative Unit 5.
By the time the news was published, former Parliament Speaker and former Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali had not yet announced the location where she would hold meetings as a Tirana MP.
Fatmir Xhafaj had also not yet announced the location where he would implement “Faithful Presence.”
Residents of Kavajë will have the opportunity to be heard by the chairman of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, who has paid particular attention to the city in recent months.
The MPs from the other 11 counties, like their colleagues in Tirana County, have made public the locations of their meetings, including cafés and village centers, where the “Faithful Presence” initiative will take place.
