“Rama, guarantor of the dirtiest interests” / Arlind Qori: He is stuck in the 2000s, but facing a European youth

Arlind Qori, leader of the Together Movement, invited to the program “Të Paekspozuarit” on MCN TV, said that Edi Rama has been the guarantor of the “dirtiest” interests and that his power has stemmed from this, but now that Albanians are protesting, this will also produce chaos within those very interests.

Qori also spoke about the conspiracy theories used by those in power to attack the protest.

“Edi Rama is not all-powerful; he gained political power because he was the guarantor of the dirtiest interests, of crime, of the oligarchy, which enabled him to govern after he promised them they could steal and enrich themselves in peace. No one would make noise, no one would throw the system into crisis. But for more than a month now, people have not been staying quiet; they have been tearing down fences.

Some of them will pull the plug at some point, and this will create chaos and contradiction within the dirty interests and open the possibility for transformation.

The conspiracy theories come out, saying it is the Greeks, the Serbs, ministers, deputies. For research purposes I went into the archives; even back then, every event that happened was not met with the question of why these people were entering embassies, why they were taking to the streets in protest. No, they would say it was the hand of the Yugoslav, the Soviet, the CIA, and so on. This is insulting. There is a gentleman, Altin Hila, they kept him in prison for three days, he has sick children. Rama tells that man, who has 10,001 troubles, that you do not have troubles, you are not against corruption, etc., but that you are someone manipulated by the Serbs, the Greeks, the Iranians. They have lost touch with reality.

There is a quarter-century distance between them. I was 9 or 10 years old when Ramiz Alia was meeting with students.

It is the same thing with Rama today. Ramiz Alia was stuck in the 1970s, whereas Rama is stuck in the 2000s. Meanwhile, the youth protesting today is a European youth,” Qori said, among other things.
