Prime Minister Edi Rama has asked ministers to take steps to remove the heads of institutions under their authority, at a time when the government is facing protests and public discontent.
Sources say Rama called the ministers from Budva and asked them to meet with the heads of institutions under their authority and request their irrevocable resignations.

The decision is expected to be announced by the prime minister in the coming days. It is not yet known whether the initiative is intended to ease protesters’ anger or is linked to the possibility of early elections.
In his recent public appearances, Rama has strongly criticized the administration.
A week ago, he warned of measures against administrative officials who fail to meet deadlines for responding to citizens and addressing their concerns.
“When you delay and miss the deadline, you have to bear the consequences, and we will enforce this through the Mirror Law, which will stipulate that every missed deadline must have someone accountable, and that person must bear the consequences,” Rama said.
