Prosecution seeks pre-trial detention for two suspects in the killing of the imam in Zlipotok

The Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren announced that it has submitted a request to the Basic Court in Prizren for the imposition of pre-trial detention on B.H. and I.H. in connection with the killing of imam G.T. in the village of Zlipotok, Municipality of Dragash.

According to the Prosecution, the incident is suspected to have occurred due to disagreements over the use of a meadow.

The statement says that, according to the request, the defendant B.H., on 29.06.2026, at around 23:00, in the village of Zlipotok, Municipality of Dragash, intentionally deprived the now deceased G.T. of his life. Based on the investigation so far, the case is suspected to be the result of an earlier conflict between the defendant and the victim regarding the use of a property, specifically a meadow. According to the Prosecution, B.H. inflicted wounds on the victim with a sharp instrument, a knife, and as a result G.T. died at the scene.

Through these actions, B.H. is suspected of committing the criminal offense of “Aggravated Murder” under Article 173 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

Meanwhile, the Prosecution states that the defendant I.H., the father of defendant B.H., is suspected that although he was near the scene and had the opportunity to provide assistance without endangering himself or other persons, he did not take the necessary actions to help the victim, who was in direct danger to his life.

For these actions, I.H. is suspected of having committed the criminal offense of “Failure to Provide Assistance” under Article 188 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
