Previously convicted over the theft of money in Rinas, the Special Appeals Court upholds the “prison arrest” measure for Aleks Pepa

The Special Court of Appeal against Corruption and Organized Crime has upheld the “arrest in prison” measure for Aleks Pepa, who was previously convicted over the theft of 990,000 euros in Rinas. The decision was taken today, July 7, 2026, by the judicial panel composed of judge Saida Dollani, after reviewing the appeal filed by the two suspects against the decision of the Special Court of First Instance.

The Appeals Court approved the decision dated April 14, 2026, which had imposed the security measure of “arrest in prison,” as well as the decision dated June 6, 2026, which had ordered the continuation of this measure.

In this way, the Court of Appeal rejected the requests of Aleks Pepa and I.L., ruling that they must continue to remain in pretrial detention.
