The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime has decided to uphold the security measure of “arrest in prison” against Eralbi Breçani.
Breçani is accused of trafficking 446 kilograms of cocaine as part of a structured criminal group. According to the prosecution, he is part of the group led by Ervin Mata.

The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, sitting as a single-judge panel composed of judge Mr. Dhimitër Lara, today, on 09.07.2026, ruled on criminal case no. 27, registered on 03.07.2026, regarding the appeal filed by appellant E.B.: “Appeal against decision no. 43, dated 15.06.2026, of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, concerning: Verification of the conditions for the implementation of the security measure and the security needs for detainee E.B. and the continuation of the implementation of the security measure ‘Arrest in prison’, provided for by Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure,” as follows:
