Following a months-long investigation, police authorities in Kosovo have undertaken a large-scale operation in Podujevë, searching the homes of several individuals suspected of an explosive attack that occurred earlier this year. During the action, firearms, ammunition, and other military-type equipment were found and confiscated.

The incident in question reportedly took place on March 11, 2026, in the village of Sfeqël, when a hand grenade was thrown towards the Shaqiri family home. Initially, the case was recorded as “Use of a dangerous weapon or instrument,” but as the investigation progressed and evidence was gathered in cooperation with the Prosecution, the charges were reclassified to “Attempted Murder,” “Incitement,” and “Unauthorized Possession of Weapons.”
According to exclusive information from Sinjali, the individuals involved in this investigation have been identified as Lavdim Zejnullahu-Parascan, around 37 years old, Liridon Lushaku, around 36 years old, and A.Z., around 26 years old. The victim of this attack is D.Sh., a 24-year-old man.
On July 21, investigators from the Serious Crimes Unit, supported by the Special Operations Unit and the K9 team, executed a warrant issued by the Basic Court in Pristina for the raid of two addresses in the city of Podujevë.
During the search of Lavdim Zejnullahu-Parascan’s home, law enforcement discovered and seized two pistols – one of which is suspected to be a gas weapon – along with 67 cartridges of various calibers, three pistol magazines, three long-gun magazines, a shell casing, as well as various rifle components.
At the other home, belonging to Liridon Lushaku, a pistol was found, for which a separate criminal case was opened for unlicensed weapon possession. Meanwhile, A.Z. was questioned by authorities regarding the same criminal offense and, by order of the prosecutor, was allowed to leave freely, with proceedings continuing at liberty.
Sources within the investigation indicate that during the operation, Lavdim Zejnullahu-Parascan and Liridon Lushaku were not at their homes. Official summonses have been sent for them to appear at the police station, and they are now wanted by authorities.
Investigations to fully uncover the circumstances of this event are ongoing.
