Police and RENEA launch operation to capture Ylli Zalla, 49-year-old once again evades arrest, wanted over weapons arsenal

Ylli Zalla, who has been declared wanted for possession of an arsenal of weapons and is suspected of involvement in the Rinas assassination attempt, has once again evaded arrest. It is reported that Tirana Police, together with the elite RENEA forces, carried out another operation in the village of Zallë in Fushë-Krujë, in an effort to arrest the 49-year-old, who has been wanted for months.

But once again Zalla escaped arrest, as he was not found at his home, despite information received about his whereabouts.

During the search, police again found a pistol, which is suspected to belong to him. His brother had also been declared wanted by police on behalf of Lezhë Police, but sources say he was later released.

Ylli Zalla has been wanted since November 2025, when an arsenal of weapons was discovered at his home following investigations related to the Rinas attack. He is suspected of being an accomplice in the attack in which Gilmando Dani and Muçi Shaljani were killed.

Also in February of this year, police discovered another arsenal of weapons in the village of Zall, which is suspected to have belonged to the 49-year-old.
