Peja Hospital Provides Update on People Injured in Istog Accident

Two people lost their lives and four others were injured in the serious road accident that occurred this afternoon in Istog, while the General Hospital in Peja has released details about the case.

According to the hospital’s statement, at around 16:00, a female patient with multiple traumatic injuries and no signs of life was brought to the Emergency Department. The medical team attempted to save her, but she was later pronounced dead.

Four other people injured in the same accident were admitted to the Emergency Department around 30 minutes later.

Among them was a child in serious condition who was transferred to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK). The patient was intubated during the transfer and accompanied by the Anesthesiology team. Doctors said the child had sustained multiple traumatic injuries, an intracranial hemorrhage and a femur fracture.

Another female patient, diagnosed with a femur fracture, was admitted to the Orthopedics Department. The other two injured people were discharged for outpatient treatment after receiving the necessary medical care and being assessed as having minor bodily injuries.

The General Hospital in Peja expressed its condolences to the victim’s family and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
