Parliament closes plenary session, draft resolutions for independent institutions approved and changes made to parliamentary committees

The Parliament of Albania concluded this Tuesday’s plenary session, during which several draft resolutions related to the assessment of the work of independent institutions were approved, as well as decisions affecting the composition of parliamentary committees.

Among the decisions taken was the appointment of MP Gjin Gjoni as a member of the secretariat for Voting Procedures and Ethics. This decision was approved in Parliament with 73 votes in favor, 0 abstentions, and 0 votes against.

Independent MP Marjana Koçeku was also removed from the committees of which she was a member. She was removed as a member of the Commission on Administrative-Territorial Reform, while MP Onid Beleri was appointed in her place. The decision received 72 votes in favor, 0 abstentions, and 1 vote against.

In the Commission for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Marjana Koçeku was removed from the position of secretary of the Commission and MP Sara Mila was appointed to that role. This decision was passed with 74 votes in favor, 0 abstentions, and 1 vote against.

Parliament also approved, with 73 votes in favor, 0 abstentions, and 1 vote against, the removal of Marjana Koçeku as a member of the Commission for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Another decision provided for the removal of Marjana Koçeku as an alternate member of the Commission for Culture, Tourism and the Diaspora, while MP Ilva Gjuzi was appointed to this commission. The vote on this issue ended with 73 votes in favor, 0 abstentions, and 1 vote against.

As for the votes on the other acts, the draft law “On official controls and other official activities carried out to ensure the implementation of legislation on food and animal feed, regulations on animal health and welfare, as well as plant health and plant protection products in the Republic of Albania” was approved in its entirety with 74 votes in favor, 0 abstentions, and 1 vote against.

The draft resolution “On the assessment of the activity of the Commissioner for Civil Service Oversight for 2025” passed with 74 votes in favor, 0 abstentions, and 1 vote against.

With 73 votes in favor, 0 abstentions, and 1 vote against, Parliament also approved the draft resolution “On the assessment of the activity of the Commissioner for the Right to Information and Protection of Personal Data for 2025.”

The draft resolution “On the assessment of the activity of the Department of Public Administration for 2025” was also approved with 73 votes in favor, 0 abstentions, and 1 vote against.

Meanwhile, the draft resolution “On the assessment of the annual activity of the Competition Authority for 2025” was approved with 73 votes in favor, 1 abstention, and 1 vote against.

The same majority, 73 votes in favor, 1 abstention, and 1 vote against, also approved the draft resolution “On the assessment of the annual activity of the Public Procurement Commission for 2025.”

The draft resolution “On the assessment of the annual activity of the Authority for Information on the Documents of the Former State Security Service for 2025” was approved with 73 votes in favor, 0 abstentions, and 0 votes against.

Meanwhile, the draft resolution “On the assessment of the annual activity of the Institute for Studies on the Crimes and Consequences of Communism for 2025” was voted through with 74 votes in favor, 1 abstention, and 0 votes against.

Finally, the draft resolution “On the assessment of the activity of the Deposit Insurance Agency for 2025” was approved with 75 votes in favor, 0 abstentions, and 0 votes against.
