Osmani at Oxford: Kosovo must be heard equally on the international stage

Former Kosovo president Vjosa Osmani took part in a discussion organized by the Oxford Diplomatic Society and the Oxford International Relations Society on the role of democracy and the challenges of the new world order.

In a post about the event, Osmani said she had spoken about the need to protect freedom, justice and dignity. She said these principles should apply equally to every country, without discrimination or double standards.

She said the people of Kosovo know from experience the value of freedom and the sacrifices required to achieve it. Osmani stressed that a country’s size should not determine its sovereignty, rights or dignity.

For that reason, she said it was important for Kosovo to participate in international forums and discussions on political developments and the challenges facing democracy worldwide.
