Opposition’s 43rd Gathering Concludes – Powerful Speeches in Front of the Prime Minister’s Office and a Popular March in Tirana: Rama’s Removal Demanded! Broader Participation Expected on Monday

This Sunday’s latest demonstration against the executive has also come to an end.

A large number of protesters gathered at “Skënderbej” Square, where some shared their views in front of News24 cameras, while others displayed satirical banners directed at the head of government, Edi Rama.

The group of attendees then headed to the Prime Minister’s Office, where for nearly two hours citizens and various activists spoke to voice concerns over the current state of the country. One of the main reasons that sparked the participants’ anger was the 4 million euro sum dedicated to Kanye West’s performance, an expense deemed offensive in the face of ordinary citizens’ hardships.

As darkness began to fall, the crowd started the traditional march along the capital’s main arteries. This time, thousands marched through the area known as the Former Block, chanting slogans for radical change and the prime minister’s dismissal, and also inviting customers of nearby bars to join their movement.
