Oncology Patients Protest Over Lack of Therapies

Oncology patients will hold a symbolic protest today in front of the Ministry of Health, calling for a solution to the ongoing shortage of therapies at the Oncology Clinic.

According to the “Hema-Onko” Association, patients have been facing shortages or delayed deliveries of medicines for several months. These include biological therapies, cytostatics and medicines on the positive list, while the situation is causing them stress and uncertainty.

The director of the Oncology Clinic, Igor Stojkovski, said, meanwhile, that most of the preparations had arrived and that supplies of the remainder were expected to be delivered within this week. He attributed the delays to the increase in the number of patients, higher consumption and the supply process, stressing that patients’ treatment had not been put at risk.
