NATO’s two-day summit is being held in Ankara, family photo of member states’ leaders released

In Ankara, the NATO leaders’ summit is taking place today (Tuesday) and tomorrow, with US President Donald Trump also in attendance.

The meeting will officially open this evening with the leaders’ formal dinner.

During the evening, the family photo of the heads of the Alliance’s member states was also made public, with Prime Minister Rama present together with his wife.

At the opening of the summit, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte presented the latest figures on defense spending by the alliance’s member states.

As part of this summit, a bilateral meeting between Donald Trump and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is also scheduled. The US president said: “Turkey has been loyal. We will consider the possibility of selling them F-35 aircraft.”

Trump also voiced criticism of the European allies, declaring: “NATO has disappointed me. France, Great Britain, Germany and Italy have turned their backs on us.”
