NAME – 28-year-old wanted for murder arrested in Italy! Extradition to Albania expected

A 28-year-old man who was wanted and convicted of murder has been arrested in Italy and is expected to be extradited to Albania. The State Police announced that, as part of the operation codenamed “The Wanted,” Vanxhel Balla from Dibër was arrested in Bolzano, Italy.

Balla had been declared internationally wanted by Interpol Tirana after the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Dibër sentenced him to 12 years in prison in 2020 for the criminal offense of “murder with intent,” committed in cooperation. The 28-year-old has nine years of his sentence remaining.

According to the police, Balla and his brother, citizen A. B., killed citizen A. Z., also known as I. Z., with a sharp instrument, namely a knife, following a conflict over trivial reasons.

Cooperation with the relevant authorities continues to apprehend and extradite citizens declared internationally wanted.

A wanted man convicted of murder with intent, committed in cooperation, has been apprehended in Bolzano, Italy.

Citizen Vanxhel Balla, 28, born in Dibër, was arrested for extradition purposes.

Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Rome, is continuing procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Albania.
