Muhaxheri: Abdixhiku chose a third path after February, neither with the government nor the opposition

Gazmend Muhaxheri, who is both the mayor of Peja and a member of the Presidency of the Democratic League of Kosovo, stated that Lumir Abdixhiku adopted an isolated political stance after the February 9, 2025 elections.

He emphasized that the decision to join neither the governing bloc nor the opposition was exclusively Abdixhiku’s and was not consulted with anyone else within the party.

“Our party leader, after the winter electoral process, set a completely personal line. He expressed clearly: neither on the side of the government, nor on that of the opposition, but in an intermediate position, as Fetahu once did. This was his own burden,” Muhaxheri was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, the LDK branch in Peja, directed precisely by Muhaxheri, had already called during the previous month for Abdixhiku’s resignation as a gesture of moral responsibility for the party’s performance in the June 7 elections.
