LDK Branch in Peja Calls on Abdixhiku to Step Down: Leadership Must Take Responsibility for the Result

After a Presidency meeting and a review of the June election result, the LDK branch in Peja announced that, by majority vote, its members had called for deep political reflection and for the party leadership to take responsibility.

In the branch’s statement, it says that in this spirit, a resignation was requested as a moral and political act, with the assessment that responsibility for the result should be borne by the leadership.

According to the same statement, the Presidency considers such a step to be a clear imperative for this house of democracy, so that the trust of the membership is preserved and democratic standards within the party are strengthened.

This marks the first time that an important LDK branch has called for chairman Abdixhiku’s resignation over the result of the June 7 elections.

It was also previously reported that relations between Peja mayor Gazmend Muhaxheri and LDK chairman Lumir Abdixhiku had cooled.
