Mother alleges driver twice tried to run over her 5-year-old son in Turin

A serious incident was reported in Turin, Italy, where a 5-year-old boy was struck by a car on the evening of September 26. The child’s mother claims the driver tried to run him over twice.

According to the woman’s account, the incident occurred during a dispute over a romantic relationship. She was with her son and her partner when a car driven by 24-year-old Camilla D’Alessandra arrived at the scene. D’Alessandra faces an attempted murder charge.

“She tried to run over my son twice,” the mother said, describing how the entire episode unfolded in a matter of seconds.

The woman said her partner told her to head toward the sidewalk while he confronted the driver. But as the car approached, she said she was unsure whether to stay where she was or run away.

The car first struck the child. According to the mother’s account, the driver then reversed and drove forward again, hitting her and her partner as well. The driver left the scene after the collision.

Camilla D’Alessandra’s lawyer, Cristian Scaramuzzino, has given a different account. He said his client was deeply shaken, had cried and had asked about the child’s condition.

The defense insists the collision was not intentional and denies that the 24-year-old intended to hit the child.

The investigation and court proceedings are expected to establish exactly what happened and whether it was a deliberate act or an accident.
