Ministry of Defence: 20 fires reported today, 11 active and 7 under monitoring

Twenty wildfires were reported during the day, 11 of which remain active, while 7 are under monitoring. The main focus remains on Mount Dajti, where the fire is still active and the response is also being supported by the Armed Forces with personnel, vehicles and a helicopter. An active situation is also reported in Dibër, particularly in the Lundre–Madhesh area of Mat, while work continues in Kalivaç–Zimaj–Kashnjet in Lezhë.

Active fires have also been reported in Shkodër County and in Kulumri, Fushë-Arrëz. Active fires have also been reported in Kropisht, Selenicë; Vokopolë, Poliçan; Tërbun, Pukë; and other areas, while several fires in Korçë, Elbasan, Durrës, Fier, Kukës and Shkodër are under monitoring. The situation in Drizë–Peshtan–Frakull, Fier, is also being monitored. According to the Ministry of Defence, local structures and the Armed Forces have been engaged in operations to deal with the situation, including ground and aerial capabilities.

Ministry of Defence – update on the wildfire situation. Summary of the wildfire situation – September 6, 2026, 20:00. Twenty wildfires were reported during the day, of which 11 remain active, 7 are under monitoring and 2 have been extinguished.

Local structures and the Armed Forces have been engaged in operations to deal with the situation, including ground and aerial capabilities.

The main focus remains on Mount Dajti, where the fire is still active and the response is also being supported by the Armed Forces with personnel, vehicles and a helicopter; as well as in Kryezi, Kavajë, where, alongside the firefighting forces, an Air Tractor aircraft has also been deployed.

An active situation is also reported in Dibër, particularly in the Lundre–Madhesh area of Mat, while work continues in Kalivaç–Zimaj–Kashnjet, Lezhë, with support from two Armed Forces helicopters.

In Shkodër County, the Bardhaj–Myselim fire remains active. Local structures, volunteers and the Armed Forces, including 2 helicopters, have been engaged in the operation. The fire in Kulumri, Fushë-Arrëz, also remains active.

Active fires have also been reported in Kropisht, Selenicë; Vokopolë, Poliçan; Tërbun, Pukë; and other areas, while several fires in Korçë, Elbasan, Durrës, Fier, Kukës and Shkodër are under monitoring. In Drizë–Peshtan–Frakull, Fier, the situation is under monitoring.

The National Civil Protection Agency continues to monitor the situation uninterruptedly throughout the country, in close coordination with the prefectures, municipalities and all structures of the Civil Protection system. Operational capacities remain deployed in the field and on standby to intervene wherever the situation requires, with priority given to protecting the lives, homes and property of citizens.
